This web site was developed to notify the public of any current or upcoming bond issuances by the District of Columbia (the "District") and to provide detailed information regarding the purchase of District bonds in the primary and secondary markets. Proceeds from bond issuances are used to build and improve District roads, schools, recreation centers, housing, and other critical public facilities and infrastructure projects. Bonds are also issued to refinance outstanding District debt in order to reduce our interest payments or otherwise restructure District debt, and free up revenues to help fund the government services District residents need and deserve. As the District's chief financial officer, I am responsible for the financial stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District. Investment in the city and its infrastructure is a key to maintaining the strength and soundness of the District's fiscal and budgetary operations.
